The former governor of Maine, Paul LePage, has “thrown his hat in the ring.”
Although I was going to write a comparison of him and our governor, I changed my mind – choosing to focus on our governor’s outstanding accomplishments.
Governor Mills was born 12/30/47 in Farmington, Maine. She attended University of Massachusetts- Boston and University of Maine School of Law. She is the 75th governor of Maine since Jan. 2, 2019, and the first female governor.
She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2002. She was Maine’s 55th attorney general, starting Jan. 6, 2009. (Two terms.)
While in office she accomplished the following:
- Ensured Maine people have affordable health care.
- Protecting Maine’s environment and combatting climate change.
- Investment in public education.
- Strengthened the economy.
- Skillfully and cautiously led our state through COVID-19.
She has the following characteristics: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, honesty, leadership, openness, and accountability.
Governor Mills is a strong governor who captured 51 percent of the vote during her first run in multi-candidate fields. She is serving constituents well. Proud of her. If she runs in the future, she certainly has my vote.
