TREMONT — Yvonne Jacqueline “Jackie” Hodgdon, 79, of Seal Cove, died peacefully in Ellsworth on Nov. 14, 2010, surrounded by family, of natural causes.
Jackie was born Sept. 16, 1931 in Meriden, Conn. She moved to Seal Cove to raise her family.
Jackie worked for many years at Tremont Consolidated School as a custodian and as a school bus driver. Her proudest accomplishment was opening Hodgdon’s Seafood, which she and her husband John ran for 20-plus years, making many lifelong friends out of customers. Her favorite times were spent with family – her children, her grandchildren, and her brothers.
Jackie is survived by her brother, John E. Morris, of Meriden, Conn.; her daughter, Peteranne, of Ellsworth; sons Thomas of Cherryfield, Wayne of Lamoine, Mark of Seal Cove, and Michael and Sue and their children Ian and Jordan of Seal Cove. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John; by her parents, Robert E. and Yvonne Lucas Morris; her brothers Robert Jr., and Richard.
Calling hours were Nov. 17, 2010 at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 1139 Main St., in Mount Desert. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers mourners are asked to donate to Tremont Consolidated School Athletic Department, HC 33, Box 74, Bass Harbor ME 04653, or Southwest Harbor/Tremont Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 437, Southwest Harbor ME 04679.
