SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Winona “Nonie” (Canty) Reed died Dec. 20, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Southwest Harbor. She was born Aug. 17, 1923 in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Patrick Russell and Winona (Ferguson) Canty.
She was a loving wife and mother. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold in 1991, and looked forward to being with him once again.
She is survived by her daughters Sharon Smith and her husband Torn of Dayton, Texas; Mary Ellen Martel and her husband Jack of Southwest Harbor; and Patricia Hutchins and her husband Rick of Barre, Vt. She is also survived by grandchildren David Fougere, Kimberly Kelley, Theresa Aldy, Jennifer Martel and Adam Hutchins; great-grandchildren Joseph, Christina and James Fougere, Courtney Hernandez, Elizabeth and Catherine Kelley, and Cory Brogan; great-great-grandchildren Braden and Michael Hernandez, and a very dear friend, Bonnie Veinote.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents and her four siblings Ruby, Jack, Russell and Beatrice.
Graveside services and a celebration of Nonie’s life will be held in the spring.
