William C. “Mr. Happy” Walker

Bill Walker of Lamoine passed peacefully Sunday, Jan. 9. Bill was born April 2, 1956, in Newburyport, Mass. He was the son of Kenneth and Mary Skinner Walker of Amesbury, Mass.

Bill leaves behind longtime partner Debra Smith of Lamoine, daughter Gena of New Hampshire and son Clayton of Ohio, sisters Carol Sue Kaufmann of California, April and husband, Nassos Michas, of New York, Bonnie and husband, John Kohen, of Georgia, Gayle Welch of Massachusetts, Cheryl Foley of New Hampshire, Robin and husband, Joel Ambrose, of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

He will be especially missed by his sidekick Colt.

Bill was the proud owner of Walker Builders Inc. for over 30 years, “taking pride in all phases of fine carpentry.”

Bill definitely enjoyed his life riding motorcycles, spending time with close friends and his love for animals.

Bill will be missed and remembered by many for his gift for gab, as Bill would say, “I’m a walker, not a talker,” dry sense of humor, quick wit and especially his warm Colt 45.

A celebration of life will be held Jan. 30 between noon and 2 p.m. at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge. All are welcome to attend.

Know when to pay your respects.
