Wanda Nightingale, 66, of Bucksport passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 4, 2018, in Bangor. She was born in Bangor to the late Leslie Nightingale and Vivian Anderson McLaughlin on Oct. 19, 1951.
She worked most of her life as a sales associate at Hannaford’s for 20-plus years and the last 13 years for Renys.
Wanda is survived by her son Corey Nightingale and wife, Nicci; grandsons Kaleb and Bryce; stepfather Berk McLaughlin, all of Bucksport; stepmother Herriet Nightingale of Marlborough, Conn.; brothers Sheldon Nightingale and wife, Cherie, of Saco, Larry McLaughlin of Middletown, R.I.; sisters April Merry and husband, Gene, of Orland and Kim Nightingale of Marlborough, Conn. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her cousin and best friend Rhonda Cough, who she did everything with, and Tina Herbert, who was like the daughter she never had. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sherry Collum and Rhonda Nightingale.
Much of Wanda’s time was spent with her two grandsons, who were the light of her life and her pride and joy. Whether it was playing toys or doing puzzles with Bryce or being front row for every sporting event with Kaleb.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from noon-1 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 at Riverview Cemetery, River Road, Bucksport with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A gathering will immediately follow at the Arey Community Center. Arrangements are under the care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services Bucksport.
