Robert Lewis Campbell Jr. of Brooksville, 69, passed away on May 5 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center surrounded by his loving sisters.
Bob was born in Boston April 28, 1952. He grew up on Cape Cod and later moved to Maine in 1989 to be close to family. Bob made it a point to tell his family and friends just how proud and loved he was of us all the time.
Bob took pride in being a plumber and when he retired he volunteered at the local food pantry. Bob loved to fish, hunt and play golf, cribbage and horseshoes. Most of all, he loved being a brother and uncle. One of Bob’s proudest moments was when he got a hole in one at the Deer Isle Country Club, where his picture hung for years. His favorite sayings were “Ubetcha” and “God bless ya, Deah.”
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert Sr. and Lillian, brother-in-law William Rice Sr. and nephew Preston Rice. He is survived by sisters Ruthie Rice, Sue Allen and husband, Spencer, and Patty Hutchinson and husband, Jimmy; and nieces and nephews Bill and partner David, Natasha, Brandon and wife, Meaghan, Marisa, Kayla, Jacob, Brenna, Bryant, Elizabeth, Mercades, Eva, Raegen, Charlotte, Kitridge, Emberly, Avery and Jaxtyn.
A celebration of life will be held at the Brooklin Cemetery across from the Baptist Church on Bay Road on May 22 at 2 p.m.
