Robert E. Pinkham Sr.


Robert E. Pinkham Sr., 72, passed away after a brief illness on Aug. 28, 2018, at an Ellsworth Hospital. He was born on Dec. 2, 1945, in Ellsworth, the son of Ethel (Pinkham) Poors and stepfather Alton Poors.

Robert was, for many years, a certified welder before becoming self-employed as a painter for the last 25 years. His life revolved around his family and he spent every spare minute with them. His hobby was his work. He loved to paint, and those who benefited from knowing him and utilizing his talents were always greatly rewarded.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Vadeen (Chick) Pinkham of Hancock; daughter, Laura (Pinkham) Colby and husband, Jon, of Franklin; son, Robert Pinkham Jr. of Hancock, son, Bobby Corey and wife Patti of Terrell, Texas; daughter, Robin (Corey) Huneycutt and husband, Mark, of Burleson, Texas; brother, Kenneth Poors and wife Chris of Ellsworth; brother, Peter Poors and wife, Sharon, of Ellsworth; sister-in-law Lillie Poors of Ellsworth and brother Lewis Mitchell and wife, Clara, of Ellsworth; sister-in-law, Celeste Cram; brother-in-law James Chick and wife Hazel; brother-in-law Frank Chick and wife Candace, and sister-in-law Janis Garland; 10 grandchildren, Christian, Marissa, Ella, Stephanie, Keenan, Kolby, Kristie, Kassie, Brandy and Christina; six great-grandchildren and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was predeceased and will be met by his mother Ethel and stepfather Alton Poors from Ellsworth; his precious granddaughter Morgan Colby of Franklin; brother Rusty Poors of Ellsworth, and brother-in-law Ashel Cram.

A graveside service will be held on Sept. 14, 2018, at 1 p.m., at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth. A gathering immediately afterward to celebrate and remember Robert’s life, will be held at their home in Hancock.
