San Antonio, Texas
The charismatic Richard Edward Bennoch entered into eternal rest on Nov. 23, 2021. Though he was a country boy born in Amherst, Richard did not stay there long. After he met the love of his life, “Jeanie” Byers, he would soon join the Air Force, and travel the world for the next 25 years. He lived throughout the U.S., from Minnesota to Texas, and even spent time in Germany and Thailand, making the rank of master sergeant in the process. During this time, a family was created. He leaves behind his two daughters, Karen and Lori Bennoch, and a son, Richard A. Bennoch.
Always moving and working, Richard spent 20 years at VIA as a mechanic. In his retirement years, he didn’t stay still much. He loved to tinker in his garage as he listened to Ray Price, build anything from chairs for the neighbors to new railings for his porch, and plan the next home adventure for his daughters. He always did for others, whether it was helping his daughters with their lawns or helping neighbors with doors, cars or anything else that he could. Richard was a good man and truly lived by example. He was always interested in the world around him, loved cars and airplanes like no other, and was so intelligent, much of what he excelled at was self-taught. Those who knew him will feel the void for quite a while.
He joins his wife and two brothers in Heaven but leaves behind a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren in Houston, and a sister, Susie Cyr, in New Hampshire and brother, John, in Bar Harbor. Until we meet again, toodles, Dadeeeo.
