Nicholas A. Lounder

HANCOCK — Nicholas A. Lounder, 32, beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, uncle and nephew, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, with his loving parents at his side at Manor Rehab Facility, Bangor. “Nick,” as he liked to be called, was born Aug. 14, 1980, at Blue Hill.

He attended Sumner Memorial High School, Sullivan and graduated in 1999. For the past 13 years, Nick worked at Viking Lumber in Hancock, where he made many friends.

He was predeceased by his sister, Lisa Jean; grandparents, Lessie and Harry Lounder Sr. of Hancock; grandfather, Merton Rich; great-grandparents, Annabelle and Edwin Hamblen and Ethel and Jasper Rich, all of Tremont; uncles, Arthur Page of Hancock and George Haskins of Hancock and Pennsylvania. He is survived by his parents, Annabelle and Harry Lounder Jr.; his brother, Harry Lounder III, sister-in-law, Sarah Lounder, nephew, Stephen and niece, MacKenzie of Hancock; his grandmother, Lida Rich of West Tremont; his aunts, Edith Lounder, Pamela Crowley, Gertrude Haskins, Nancy Wright, Helen Norwood, Amelia Page, Judy Page and Lynn Whalen; uncles, Bruce Rich, William Rich, Andrew Lounder, Harold Crowley, Walter Norwood, Cecil Page, Ed Wright; and many cousins. He leaves behind best friends, Joshua Sawyer, Aaron Johnson and Jeremy Kane, all of Hancock and Shawn Day of Colorado.

Nick was especially close to his nephew, Stephen, and spent many hours playing video games and various outdoor activities with him. He also loved his niece, MacKenzie, very much and loved spending time with her and her big brother, Stephen.

A memorial service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Union Congregational Church, Hancock, followed by a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock.
