Nancy Fitzgerald Fowler

OBIT - FowlerBROOKLIN — Nancy Fitzgerald Fowler, 62, died Feb. 1, 2015, at her home in Brooklin, after a long battle with brain cancer. Nancy was born and raised on Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from the University of Vermont. Nancy started her professional career in banking in New York, and later moved to California, where she met and married her husband, Bruce. Nancy enjoyed a very successful professional life in banking, but always found time to volunteer for worthy causes. Her proudest moments were with CASA (court appointed special advocates), which worked with and helped children maneuver through the legal and court system in Oakland, Calif.

Nancy and Bruce retired to Brooklin in 2001, where she enjoyed gardening, goats, rowing, sailing, bread baking, and XC skiing with her many friends. Nancy continued her work with children as a volunteer with Nichols Day Camp.

Nancy leaves behind a loving sister in New York, a caring brother in Florida and a husband with a tremendous void in his life.

Celebrations of her life will be held this spring/summer in both Maine and California.

Donations may be in Nancy’s memory to Hancock County Hospice or Nichols Day Camp.
