Mildred Louise Keezer

BAR HARBOR — Mildred Louise Keezer, 92, died at Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor on Dec. 21, 2009. Born Jan. 28, 1917 in East Hampden, Maine, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Jessie Ellis.


She was a member of the United Congregational Church of Seal Harbor, and was a professional house cleaner for summer homes. Mildred enjoyed hiking and taking pictures.

She was predeceased by two husbands – Hollis L. Wright, Jr., to whom she was married for 56 years; and by Harold Keezer, to whom she was married for 7 1/2 years. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Ingalls of Brewer and Hellen Wallace of Jonesport; two brothers, Harry Ellis of Milo and Carlton Ellis of California; and one grandson, Herbert Gray Hale.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Gloria Candage of Hampden; grandson, Frank Rumill, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Tremont; great-granddaughter Erica Rumill and great-grandson Dusten Phippen, great-granddaughter Heather May and her family; nieces and nephews; and special friends Marion Kelley, Betty Reed, Connie Jellison and many more; and a special son-in-law, Frank Rumill, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at Abby Chapel in Seal Harbor, Maine on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. Those who wish to donate in her memory can donate to the funeral fund at Bar Harbor Banking and Trust Company.
