BLUE HILL and GLOUCESTER, MASS. — Michael E. Grindle, 40, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2013, while at sea. He was born Jan. 29, 1973, in Ellsworth, a son of Thomas and May (Torralva) Grindle.
Mike, known as “Grin” to many of his friends, grew up in Blue Hill and had a lifelong love of fishing and the sea. He enjoyed ATV riding, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding and spending time with his friends and family. Mike had a very generous and giving nature.
Michael is survived by his parents, Thomas and May Grindle of Blue Hill; sister, Jackie Snow and husband John of Penobscot; nephews, Tyler and Parker Snow; a special young lady, Kenzie Lamson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Basil A. and Nora S. Grindle of Blue Hill, Wanda L. Gray of Blue Hill, Herman G. Torralva Sr. of San Francisco; uncle, Herman G. Torralva Jr.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held 1:30 pm, Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Blue Hill Town Park.
