Maud C. Beede, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 8, 2009, at a Penobscot health-care facility. She was born May 26, 1916, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Uzial F. and Nellie (Maxwell) Candage.
She worked for many summers at the local blueberry factory in Sedgwick. Maud was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, especially her flower gardens. She was an active member of the North Sedgwick Baptist Church and former member of the Grange.
Maud was predeceased by her husband, Vance; sister, Audrey Beede; and brother, Rufus Candage. She is survived by her son, Stuart Beede and wife, Deborah L-Wiley of Glenburn; grandchildren, Deborah Dastyck and husband, David, Scott Beede and Andrea Hamilton; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the North Sedgwick Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the spring at Rural Cemetery.
