Margo Elaine (Caler) Rogers passed away on June 22, 2020, at Seaport Village Healthcare in Ellsworth after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 29, 1942, in Centerville, the daughter of Thurman Allen Caler and Audrey (Caler) Mathews.
A 1961 graduate of Cherryfield Academy, Margo received many scholastic awards. She was valedictorian, a class officer and captain of the cheerleaders for her four years of high school.
Margo had a wonderful laugh and smile.
She had many friends, but her best friend since high school was Lucille McQuarrie.
She was good at everything she tried; she was an avid tennis player who enjoyed playing regularly with her friends. She ran her own ceramic shop for many years. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts.
Margo is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Rogers; two sons, Kevin Rogers of Ellsworth and Scott Rogers (Hope) of Hancock; stepdaughters, Vicki (Bruce) Noddin of Ellsworth and Kelli (Richard) Merchant of Hancock along with their children and grandchildren; stepfather, Richard Matthews of Cherryfield; brothers, Lamont (Carol) Caler and Earl Caler, both of Cherryfield.
A special thanks to the staff at Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer and the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth and also to the staff at Seaport Village Healthcare and Hospice.
A private graveside service will be held July 2 at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth.
