Maralyn M. Stevens, 81, passed away peacefully March 12, 2021, at her home. She was born in Ellsworth, July 1939, the daughter of Paul Joseph and Phyllis (Seavey) Beal.
Maralyn graduated from Ellsworth High School. She joined the Navy and met her first husband, Robert Minnie Sr., and married Aug. 11, 1962. Together they had four children. Maralyn moved back to Maine in 1981 and continued her career at Collier’s Nursing Home and a few odd jobs, ending her career at Merrill’s Blueberry Farm. She was later married to her second husband, Westley Stevens, for 25 years.
She loved to knit and crochet. She was an avid animal lover and was especially fond of her dog, Rascal, and her cats. Maralyn was a woman of faith; she enjoyed listening to Christian music and recorded sermons. She was a sweet, quiet woman and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her four children, Robert James Minnie and wife, Beverly, of Newport, Vt., Vicki (Minnie) Mathiason and husband, Calvin, of Clinton, Conn., Steven Minnie, of Bedford, Texas, and Kevin Minnie and partner Vicki of Ellsworth; sister Annette Smith and husband, Ken, of Florida; uncle Wendall Seavey and wife, Anne, of Ellsworth; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her late husband, Wesley, twin sister Carolyn Kay and sister Sylvia.
