Linda was a proud mother and grandmother. She delighted in spending time with her children and “grand-babies” from family dinners, flying kites, fishing and gardening to going out for ice cream and especially celebrating birthdays and holidays. Her family was her pride and joy! She loved being with her Seven Angels Family, where she spent a majority of her time with her mother, Eva, and dear friends. Linda made friends everywhere she went! She was well known for her infectious smile and happy, optimistic personality. She was an advocate for her education and learning to read was very important to her. She enjoyed taking adult education classes with the staff at RSU 24.
In Linda’s honor, her family has set up a scholarship fund at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for a foster child in Maine who will be furthering their education with a teaching degree. Donations can be made at any local branch.
Linda will be laid to rest beside her father, Daniel V. Groves, in Indian River Cemetery in Jonesport. A private graveside service will be held by her family and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
