Kathlyn Octavia Linscott “Nana” Bridges



HANCOCK—Kathlyn Octavia Linscott “Nana” Bridges, 95, died May 11, 2010, at an Ellsworth health-care facility. She was born Aug. 27, 1914, one of 14 children to Hollis M. and Gertrude E. (West) Linscott.

 

Kathlyn worked at J.J. Newberry’s in downtown Ellsworth for over 50 years. She loved square dancing and was a member of the United Baptist Church of Ellsworth.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Fickett of Milbridge; eight grandchildren, Robbie, Ronda, Wanda, Jack, Tommy, Scott, Terri and Lisa; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Bridges; daughter, Joan Haslam; and a son, John Bridges Sr.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Pine Tree Cemetery, Hancock with the Rev. Richard Rockwell officiating.
