LAMOINE, ELLSWORTH and BAR HARBOR — Judith Diane (Hutchins) Burns of Lamoine, a longtime resident of the Bar Harbor and Ellsworth areas, passed away on Nov. 19, 2015, at Sonogee Rehabilitation & Living Center in Bar Harbor. Judy, the daughter of Ernest Hutchins Sr. and Annie Wallace, was born April 24, 1939, in Waldoboro, on the first anniversary of her parents’ marriage. After graduating from Hermon High School in 1957, Judy attended D’lor Beauty School in Brewer, graduating first in her class and worked as a cosmetologist in Bar Harbor for about eight years. Judy enjoyed socializing with friends, family and her exercise group, and complaining about Steve.
Married on Nov. 26, 1957, Judy is survived by her husband, Arthur Burns, and two daughters, both born in Bar Harbor, Deborah and fiancé Steve Springer of Ellsworth; and Cheryl and husband, Milton Dean, of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and granddaughter Brianna Ashley-Diane Springer of West Palm Beach, Fla., fondly referred to as “Miss Ashley” by her grandmother; brother Ernest Hutchins, Jr. of Brewer and his wife Terri; nephew John Hutchins and fiancée Karen and great-niece Robbi Ann of Holden; and many other relatives and friends scattered around the country.
Judy’s wish was to be cremated and not to have formal services. The family celebrated her life on Thanksgiving Day, also being the 57th anniversary of Judy and Arthur’s wedding.
