Gloria R. Haddad

NORTHEAST HARBOR — Gloria R. Haddad, 85, died unexpectedly June 15, 2014, at a Bangor hospital from an accidental fall in her home. She was born July 11, 1928, in Northeast Harbor, the daughter of Elwood B. and Mary O. (Wass) Reed Sr.

Gloria graduated from Gilman High School and later married George J. Haddad in September of 1957. They lived in Harford, Conn., for many years until they retired to Northeast Harbor. She was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she was active in planning and attending many events and services. She loved to bake and share her creations with friends and members of her church. Gloria also enjoyed walking her dog, Lucky, and in her earlier years she enjoyed traveling, which included trips to Ireland and Hawaii.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Darlene M. Rosario, of Massachusetts; stepson, Robert Haddad and wife, Darlene, of California; grandsons, Andrew L. Foran and wife, Amber, of Virginia; Aaron G. Foran and wife, Samantha, of Virginia; Robert Nelson and wife, Joyce, of California; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Nelson. She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Haddad; her brother, Elwood B. Reed Jr. and his wife, Anne Reed, of Seal Harbor.

Gloria will be laid to rest at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Northeast Harbor beside her husband of 43 years. There will be a graveside service later this year when her grandsons return from active duty military deployment. The family suggests memorial gifts in Gloria’s memory be made to the Northeast Harbor Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 122, Northeast Harbor, ME 04662.
