Gerard V. Goodwin passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 4, 2019, in Franklin at the age of 80, after a four-year battle with bone marrow cancer.
Gerard was born on July 5, 1938, in Franklin to Vernon Goodwin and Marguerite (Burke) Goodwin.
He owned and operated Goodwin Trucking Inc. for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Willey) Goodwin; his son Rusty, his wife, Tammy, and their daughter Mikaela of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Elaine Wood of Jonesboro; Cathy Kirschner and her husband, John, of Augusta; seven granddaughters and two step-granddaughters.
Gerard will be missed by many others, along with his close friends, Scott Griffin, JR Wood, Manley Bragdon and Roland Conroy. He will also be missed by his faithful shotgun rider, his dog Katie.
Gerard had a passion for hunting, fishing and dancing. You could always find him at one of his favorite pond locations in the afternoon.
Gerard had a clear vision of everything. Right, wrong or indifferent, you knew where you stood.
