Frank Dearing Doble

Frank Dearing Doble, 93, died July 21, 2009, at a Blue Hill hospital.

Mr. Doble was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale University, Class of 1939. He owned and operated a small printing company, Standish Lithograph Inc., in Boston for 22 years before retiring to Maine in 1978 to “sail the best waters on the East Coast.”

Mr. Doble was predeceased by his parents, Ralph N. and Florence A. (Dearing); his sister, Rama; and his stepmother, Blanche Louise Becker Doble. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elisabeth (Nellik) Heijning Doble; children, Wendela Doble Yeo Correia and her husband, Anthony, Frank Dearing Doble Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, and Ellen Doble-Smith Steel; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five half-sisters, Nancy D. Berbrick, Betsy D. Ward, Jane D. Ker, Sylvia D. Stringer and Blanche Louise Weston; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was held July 24, 2009, at Naskeag Chapel, Brooklin, followed by burial in Naskeag Cemetery. Donations in Mr. Doble’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
