Ethel Henry

ELLSWORTH — Ethel Henry, 90, died April 14, 2013, at an Ellsworth health care facility. She was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Burnley, Lancashire, England, the daughter of George Albert and Amy (Woodhead) Hill.

Ethel was a secretary in the guidance department in the 1960s at Houlton High School. The family moved to Ellsworth and she was secretary to Thurlow Pitts at Ellsworth High School for many years. She enjoyed photography and made her own cards. Ethel took lots and lots of photographs.

She is survived by sons, George C. Henry of Ellsworth, James S. Henry Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Penobscot; daughter, Nicole Grindle and husband, Gerald, of Waltham; five grandchildren, Lisa K. Henry, Angela D. Henry, Nicholas Henry, Collin Henry and Kimberly Pahel; five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, James S. Henry Sr.; and granddaughter, Suzette M. Currier.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at
