Esther A. Curtis, 82, of Ellsworth went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
Esther was born May 1, 1936, in Surry, the daughter of Forest and Florence Polley. Esther was a proud Christian, born and raised in Ellsworth. She was well known within her community. Her greatest pride besides her family was her service to our country. Esther joined the Air Force at age 17, where she met her first husband, Cornelius Ireland, the father of her four children. Esther later married Elwin Curtis, joining their families in 1983. She is survived by her children Cynthia Northrup, Michael Ireland and Jeanne Bragg and her stepchildren Skip Curtis, Crystal Lindsey and Kandi Crawford; her grandchildren Keith French, Jessica Pao, Tiffany Sargent, Kristen Philbrook, Joshua Ireland, Amanda and Ashley Bragg, Matthew Curtis, Tyler Hallett, Denise Curtis and Deanna Lindsey, and many great-grandchildren and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Elwin Curtis and her daughter Pamela Sargent.
A celebration of life is planned for May 4, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in Ellsworth.
