Estelle Edelmann Jones



SEDGWICK — Estelle Edelmann Jones, 97, passed away peacefully June 16, 2012, at home. Born Sept. 15, 1914, in Oak Park, Ill., she was the daughter of Otto L. and Sara Neubert Edelmann.

Estelle was a graduate of Barringer High School, Newark, N.J., and graduated from Wellesley College in 1936. On Oct. 31, 1942, she married George Danford “Danny” Jones of Newark, N.J. Estelle and Danny settled in North Caldwell, N.J., where they raised their family. After her husband’s death in 1972, Estelle moved to Melbourne, Fla., and summered in LoveLadies, N.J. In 2005, she relocated to Sedgwick with her son, Douglas H. Jones, who predeceased her May 2, 2010.

Estelle is survived by her son Robert E. Jones; her daughter Suzanne J. Peterson; and grandchildren, Heidi N. Peterson and Danford O. Peterson.

Estelle had been an avid worldwide traveler, an enthusiastic gardener, a talented craftsperson, and an accomplished cook known for her wonderful Christmas cookies.
