She attended Eastern Baptist Seminary (now Eastern College), where she met and later married Oscar E. Remick in 1959. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Ellsworth, where she served on several committees and also sang in the choir. An advocate of women’s education, she had been an active member of PEO since 1969 and was a founding member of its Chapter K in Maine.

She is survived by her three sons, Mark and wife, Nancy, of Trenton; John of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Paul of Cleveland, Ohio; as well as five granddaughters, Amy Remick, Megan Remick, Leah Remick, McKenzie Hunt-Bankole, and Amanda Day; grandson, Benjamin Atwater; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Savannah; nephews, Mike and Joel Jones; nieces, Jan Studdard, Julie Tilden, Andrea Tilden, and Sarah Warner; and sister-in-law, Loretta (Remick) Tracy.
