FRANKLIN and JONESPORT
Elva (Trynor) G. Kidder, 74, died unexpectedly Feb. 28, 2009, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1934, in West Jonesport, the daughter of Capt George and Lucinda (Faulkingham) Trynor.
She grew up in Jonesport and had fond memories of her childhood. She moved to Ellsworth in the 1950s. Elva loved yard sales, puzzles, writing poetry, rides to Jonesport, playing her guitar and listening to “Old Time” country music.
She will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Darrellyn and her husband, Calvin Smith, of Charleston, Betty Jo Spinney and her companion, Darrell Ward, of Freedom, Melissa Michaud and her husband, Wayne, of Ellsworth, and Linda Hogland of Franklin; two sons, Josef Messer Sr. and his friend, Sue Nickerson, of Eastbrook, Jonathan Messer and his friend, Theresa, of Windham, 10 grandchildren, Ralph Fowler Jr., Amy Poors, Lisa and Bryan Worthley, Mark and Steven Rowley, Doug Pio Jr., Heather, Josef Jr., and Althea Messer., 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Thompson and her companion, Gilbert Grindle, of Surry; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Hugh Goodwin and his daughter, Pam and Mike Decker of Trenton. She cherished all her friends at Pinebrook Apartments and her friend, Eleanor Whitmore of Hancock. In addition to her parents; she was predeceased by her husband. James Kidder; a daughter, Stephanie Messer; and a brother, Darrell Trynor.
In keeping with her request, a private graveside service will be held in the spring. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport.
