Elsie R. Frost, 91, died peacefully at Woodlands Nursing Home in Brewer, Aug. 8, 2018. Daughter of Byron L. and Mary Brown Robinson, she was one of five daughters who grew up in Southwest Harbor. In recent years, she had been a long-term resident at Woodlands who never lost her wonderful sense of humor and her love of dancing and caring about all animals.
She married Lyle Frost, the love of her life, soon out of high school. She worked at the Hinckley Co. while her husband served in the Air Force during WWII. Lyle was a game warden, who died tragically at age 42. She and her husband had an adventurous life together while they were stationed up on the Canadian border and other interesting places. She loved that life, living in different places.
Elsie loved the woods and animals. She even had a pet fox who went everywhere with her.
After her husband died, she became an independent woman and continued to live in their home in Sullivan taking care of herself, her home and her cats, always ready with a joke or a sarcastic comment. A beautiful woman, Elsie will be missed.
She leaves behind her brother-in-law, Warren Worcester; nephews, Craig Allen, Terry Allen and Duane Worcester; and two nieces, Lori Stoffel and Vanessa Allen.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
