ELLSWORTH—Edwin “Ed” Blair Rogers, 71, passed away Sept. 18, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a brave battle with colon cancer for over three years. He was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Brattleboro, Vt., the son of Carl and Alice “Jackie” (Maynard) Rogers.

He is survived by his father, Carl Rogers of Ellsworth Falls; his wife of 51 years, Rae (Wilbur) Rogers of Ellsworth; two sons, Clifford Rogers of Ellsworth and Kenneth Rogers and his wife, Deborah, of Solon, Ohio; one daughter, Karen Proctor and her husband, Rick, of Falmouth; five grandchildren, Jacob and Adam Rogers of Solon, Ohio, Courtney, Andrew and Caroline Proctor of Falmouth; a cousin, Clifford DuBreuil of Alfred, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Jordan and her husband, Marshall, of Waltham, Juanita Calfa and her husband, Salvatore, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Edward Weirick of East Orland. He was predeceased by his mother, Alice “Jackie” Rogers; an infant brother; and a cousin, Betty Lehmann.
Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with a Masonic service held at 7 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Jordan-Fernald. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Those who wish may contribute in Ed’s memory to Anah Shrine Flag Unit, P.O. Box 365, Hancock ME 04640 for the benefit of the Shriners’ hospitals.
