Dorothy Jeanne Pottle Fogg



TRENTON — Dorothy Jeanne Pottle Fogg, 81, died Dec. 15, 2009, at a Bar Harbor hospital. She was born June 9, 1928, in Perry, the daughter of Ralph Crosby and C. Faye Hibbard Pottle.

Dorothy attended Shore Road School in Perry; and she graduated from Shead Memorial High School and Farmington State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science in home economics. She taught for nearly 30 years in the following schools: Jonesport High, Winslow High, Bar Harbor High, Trenton Elementary, Shead Memorial High and Eastport Elementary.

 

Dorothy was an avid seamstress, loved cooking and was a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of Perry Congregational Church and was treasurer of Bayview Cemetery in Perry, for more than 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Bernard Charles Fogg and Audrey Elizabeth Fogg, both of Hancock, and Robert Alvin Fogg and his wife Betty of Topsham; and two granddaughters, Meghan and Jennifer. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; sister, Audrey Townsend; and brother, Alvin Pottle.

A funeral service was at 1 p.m. on Dec. 18 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., in Ellsworth. Private interment will be at Bayview Cemetery in Perry.
