STONINGTON — David H. Duncan, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, after a long illness. He was surrounded by family and friends at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Dave was born on March 26, 1941, in Massachusetts but grew up in Camden.
He was employed for several years by the Maine State Highway Department and then was self-employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker in Maine and then Connecticut. He served on the planning board for the town of Stonington for 18 years.
Dave is survived by his wife of 30 years, Evelyn Duncan, of Stonington; two brothers, Robert Duncan of Maryland and Walter Duncan of Washington. His survivors also include his nephews, Dana Duncan of Oakland and Peter Duncan of Underhill, Vt., as well as many grandnieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Dave will be held 2 p.m. Nov. 9, 2014, at the Stonington Methodist Church, Seabreeze Avenue, Stonington. Donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle, ME 04627. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Machias.
