David E. Williams

FRANKLIN—David E. Williams, 96, died Sept. 8, 2009 at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Franklin, the son of Amos and Ora (Grindle) Williams.


David worked as a carpenter, boat builder and school bus driver for 30 years and he was a sheriff’s deputy. He was a lifelong member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Erma (Reed ) Williams; a son, Lloyd, and his wife, Sharon (McGown) Williams; grandson, Michael Scott Williams, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anderson; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon, Jacob and Hunter Williams, and Jack Cooper Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Norman.
