BRADENTON, FLA. And STEUBEN — David E. Dorr of Bradenton, Fla., and Steuben passed away May 1, 2013.
After graduating from South Portland High School, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard, after which he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Before moving to Florida, he enjoyed many years in Steuben. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the country life, where he made an enormous amount of friends. David was loved by everyone, and would lend a helping hand to those in need. David was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles, Moose and Knights of Pythias Schoodic Lodge No. 129.
David was predeceased by his father, Lyle; sister, Heidi; and twin brother, Donnie. David is survived by his mother, Lorraine of Steuben; brother, Lyle Jr. of Bradenton, brother, Bob Dorr of Steuben; a special Aunt Myrtress of Steuben; many nieces and nephews, along with their families, cousins and many, many friends. David will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the West Bay Cemetery, Gouldsboro.
