He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 3, 1971, the son of G. Donald and Linda (White) Taylor.
Dan grew up on High Street in Winthrop, graduating from Winthrop High and later earning an associate degree in civil engineering technology from the University of Maine at Orono.
Dan was a hard worker all of his life, finding employment in various construction jobs over the years. Aside from his work ethic, those who knew him best remember him as a kindhearted, generous man who was very active in volunteer work, almost always putting the needs of others ahead of his own.
He loved the outdoors where, amongst other activities, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, whitewater kayaking and even racing motorcycles for a short time. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Dan is survived by his mother, Linda White; his father, G. Donald Taylor and wife, Nancy; his brother, Ron Taylor and wife, Joyce, and their sons Ian and Isaac; his two sisters, Dawn Taylor and her son, Roman, and Terrie Taylor and husband, Mike Roy, and their sons Kempton, Camden and Caleb.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 36 Eastern Ave., Augusta, ME 04330.
