Bruce Erroll Gott, 62, died unexpectedly March 12, 2021, at his home. He was born in Bar Harbor, Dec. 15, 1958, the son of Norman Albert and Christina H. (Mitchell) Gott.
Bruce graduated from MDI High School, Class of 1977. Following graduation, Bruce started working at the Jackson Laboratory and was a crucial member of the research team. At the time of his passing, he had authored over 20 publications. Bruce married Pamela Jean Farley in 1981. Although they separated, they remained close friends until his passing. He was an extremely devoted father and grandfather.
Bruce was the Lamoine Lions Little League coach, Pack 88 Scout leader and never missed a single one of his sons’ school field trips. He was often seen fixing one of the many neighborhood kids’ ATVs. He was a father figure to many and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his mother, Christina; sons, Nicholas and wife, Misty, and Justin “JB” and wife, Rachel; granddaughter, Rayna; grandson, Cole; brothers, Frank and wife, Kate, and Dale; and favorite sister, Maria, and husband, Mark. He was predeceased by his father, Norman; brother, Billy; and grandparents, Albert and Evelyn.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
