COCOA BEACH, FLA. — Barry Scott Rickard, 49, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 30, 2014, at a hospital in Cape Canaveral, Florida. He was born Sept. 20, 1965, in West Palm Beach, Fla., the second son of Jerry J. Rickard and Donna (Neal) Rickard.
Barry graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, where he played football, baseball and made many lifelong friends, including the love of his life and wife of 33 years, Pamela. Barry took great pride in being a hard worker, and loving father to his son, Matthew and daughter, Heather. Barry enjoyed spending time outdoors whether hiking in Acadia National Park or walking Cocoa Beach with his wife. He loved spending time fishing on Donnell Pond with friends and surf fishing on Cocoa Beach. Barry never missed a Dallas Cowboys football game and rarely was seen without his Cowboys football cap. Barry was blessed to have two grandchildren, Chandler and Brooklyn. They were the apples of his eye and he enjoyed spending time playing with them.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Stevens) Rickard, of Cocoa Beach, Fla,; his mother, Donna, of Cocoa Beach; son, Matthew, and his partner, Sabrina Leeman, of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; daughter, Heather Rickard, of Port St. John, Fla.; brother, Tim and wife, Colleen, of St. George; sister, Lori Rickard, of Cocoa Beach, Fla; brother, Corey and wife, Bridget, of Orland, and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,, nephews and in-laws. He also leaves behind a very special Labrador retreiver, Morgan. Barry was predeceased by his father, Jerry.
A celebration of Barry’s life to share memories, stories and love will be held in Maine, this spring on a date and at a time to be determined.
