SOUTHINGTON, CONN. — Barbara Barton Lindsey of Southington, Conn., passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, after an extended illness. She was 89. Mrs. Lindsey was born in New Haven, Conn., and was daughter to Maude Wedmore Barton Chambers, Clarence Barton and Arthur Chambers.
She married Elwin Richard Lindsey in 1949. The couple raised three daughters in Glastonbury, and later lived in Naples, Fla., and Winter Harbor. She was a physical therapist and a graduate of Wellesley College and Columbia University.
Mrs. Lindsey was predeceased by her husband; her parents; her sister, Beverly Barton Hall; and her brothers, Arthur, Gordon and Marshall Chambers. She is survived by her daughters, Jan Lindsey (Joe Ferrigno) of Florida, Claudia Lindsey (Mike Fotos) and Clare Lindsey (Lorraine Craig) of Connecticut; her granddaughter, Kate Fotos; her sister-in-law, Virginia Chambers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express gratitude to Rejoice Anson for the years of care and companionship she provided for our mother, as well as thank the staffs of Jerome Home and interim Hospice.
