Arthur Raymond Carignan Sr.

Ray Carignan went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 13, 2018, with his family by his side.
Ray served in the Army as an infantryman and as a cook. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Cherryfield. He enjoyed his family and serving his many customers at Ray’s Meat Market, which he ran from 1975 through 2018.
He was predeceased by his mother, father, four brothers and three sisters.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mavis H, Carignan (Barclay), his two sisters, Rita and Theresa, children Dorothy D’addario; son Raymond Jr. and his wife, Karen; daughter Ella-Mae and husband Duane Atwater; daughter Cindy and husband, Chris Bell; and daughter Theresa and husband, Sofien Ghanmi. Ray was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren and great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. Extended family Floyd D’addario, Bruce Young.
Ray enjoyed going dancing, cooking large Sunday dinners for his family and going down to Cat’s Paw on Friday nights. He loved his many dear customers and is thankful for their friendship and support over the many years.
The family will have a service 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at the Steuben Social Hall, Route 1, Steuben. A reception will follow the service.
