Mabel "Mae" E. Pelley

Mae was married to Daniel J. Pelley for 48 years. They had a band together for 30 years known as Dan & Mae Pelley and The Plainsman Country Band. Mae also worked at Jasper’s Restaurant for 19 years as a waitress.

Mabel is survived by a son, Graydon Lewis, of Freeport; a daughter, Kathy Emerton, of Blue Hill; two brothers, James Elwell of Brunswick and Kenneth of South China; two sisters, Jane Moody of Freeport and Nancy Smith of Lisbon; many grandchildren; and her best friend, Polly Young of Surry. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel, in 2015 and her son Daniel Pelley Jr.

Spring interment will be with her husband at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.

The family suggests that those who desire may make contributions in Mae’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
