Lin Ellen (Trenholm) Hendrickson, 74, died peacefully at home on Nov. 25, 2022, with her best friend by her side. She was born Dec. 12, 1947, in New Orleans, the daughter of Gerald A. Trenholm and Ellen M. (Hyland) Trenholm. After the untimely death of her father, Ellen remarried when Lin was 6 and Philip Alley became her forever dad.
Lin — aka Linda before a legal name change in 2022 — graduated from Ellsworth High School and Beal Business College. Her various occupations included owning a restaurant in Florida with then-husband Bob, being a bikini-clad Miss Budweiser and flying over the Bermuda Triangle as a stewardess! Friendly by nature, Lin made many lifelong friends. Beautiful inside and out, a generous and loving soul, she will be deeply missed.
Lin is survived by her sister Leslie Alley Esposito (Vincent) of Surry. Lin loved being an aunt and great-aunt and leaves behind niece Shauna Esposito of Orland, and Shauna’s children, whom Lin adored, Ellen Caldwell, for whom she started and continually added to a special collection of snow globes, and Vincent Caldwell, whom she lavished with his treasured dinosaurs; as well as nephew Corey Esposito and family of Surry and North Carolina; and her best friend Phyllis Stevens.
Lin was predeceased by her parents, her Dad, first husband Cmdr. William Fitzsimmons and the pets she had loved and been loved by over the years.
Always a free spirit, at her request her ashes will be scattered. Forever free.
