SWAN’S ISLAND — The state's Department of Marine Resources (DMR) will hold a public hearing June 6 on an experimental aquaculture application in Burnt Coat Harbor.

Ezra, Daniel and Lincoln Johnson and Caleb MacDonald are proposing a three-year lease on 1.6 acres to raise oysters using seed stock from Muscongus Bay Aquaculture in Bremen. The four applicants want to learn if oyster farming will be a future sustainable business.
