Acadia BJJ (2) provided

ELLSWORTH — The local Brazilian jiu jitsu studio, Acadia BJJ, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 5, with an open house and a meet and greet from 9 to 11 a.m.

Kris Douglas, who began running the studio in 2016, will welcome his instructor Mike Pellegrino, a fourth-degree BJJ black belt who owns and operates MassBJJ just outside of Boston, into Acadia BJJ’s studio at 385 High St. for a discussion and possible demonstration. Douglas hopes that anyone who is interested in learning more about the martial art, kids or adults, will stop by to see what it’s all about.
