Zumba Party Set at YMCA

ELLSWORTH — The James Russell Wiggins Down East Family YMCA is throwing a party on Monday, Oct. 26, to kick off its newest fitness class, Zumba.

The party will run from 5:30 to 6;30 p.m.

A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from Latin and Caribbean styles. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms.

To encourage people to try out the new class, and see the new changes to the Fitness Department, the Y is offering Zumba free for the first week and offering a membership special. People who join the YMCA this month will receive 14 months for the price of 12 if they pay for a year in full.

Zumba is held in the YMCA gymnasium on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The class is free for members.
