SURRY — Blue Hill Heritage Trust is hosting a Secrets and Surprises of the Forest nature hike for kids on Saturday, May 7, at 9:45 a.m. at Patten Stream in Surry.
This is a fun nature hike along a beautiful trail filled with many secrets, surprises and delights. Children are welcome with an adult. The group will explore a vernal pool, the edge of the stream and the forest along the way. Please wear hiking shoes, bring a snack and water and bring a hand lens magnifier if you have one.
Merrie Eley, who will lead the hike, is a Maine Master Naturalist and early childhood teacher. She is often found hiking on local trails and loves stopping to look along the way at the marvels of nature.
