YMCA, town make Deal

BAR HARBOR — The MDI YMCA and the town have signed a memorandum of understanding outlining the services that the Y provides to townspeople.

The memorandum, signed Dec. 6, is retroactive to last June, when it was supposed to have been completed. Under the agreement, already approved in the 2011-2012 budget, the town provides the Y $47,996 and, in return, the Y provides residents a number of items, including scholarships, free swim times, community events and sports programming. A list of services available to residents is to be made available at the Y’s website online.
