Wright Center Ride for Life Sept. 7

ELLSWORTH — The 9th Annual Ride for Life on Saturday, Sept. 7, will benefit the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.

This year, there will be eight-mile, 20-mile, 50-mile and 100-mile rides. Each ride has spectacular views of the Maine coast.

Each pre-registered rider receives a free T-shirt and free lobster roll, and there will be live entertainment during a barbecue scheduled for the event.

All rides are expected to be completed by 4 p.m.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. The 100-mile race starts at 8 a.m., the 50-mile starts at 9 and the 20-mile starts at 10, all at the Surry Elementary School.

The eight-mile race begins at 10 at Newbury Neck Beach, where parking is available.

The barbecue starts at 11:30 at the school.

Adult registration is $55 ($65 after Aug. 30) while youth registration is $25 ($30 after Aug. 30). Children 13 and under can ride for free but must have adult supervision.
