Wreath-making workshop Nov. 16

SURRY — David Heath will be hosting a family wreath-making/tipping workshop on his woodlot at Granite Rock Circle South in Surry on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9:30 a.m.

David Fuller with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will be present to teach participants how to sustainably tip their fir trees, and demonstrate how to make a wreath.

Prentiss & Carlisle forester Steve MacDonald also will be present to discuss how woodland owners can manage their woodland to encourage quality wreath brush.

This is a family-friendly event. Parents are encouraged to bring children, but children should have an adult with them.

There is no charge for the workshop, but pre-registration is requested.

To register, call the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District at 667-8663 or e-mail [email protected].
