Witherle Library hosting workshop

CASTINE — On Saturday, May 19, the Witherle Memorial Library will host a workshop titled “Oral History in the Community” for community scholars practicing oral history.

The workshop will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library’s Reading Room.

Funded by the Maine State Library and conducted by Oral History and Folklife Research, the workshop will cover interviewing skills, sound recording skills and an introduction to the legal and ethical issues in oral history work.

Oral History and Folklife Research is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the stories and voices of Maine.

The workshop is free, but registration is required.
