ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Planning Commission is sponsoring a workshop on public access to the shore on Monday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ellsworth City Hall Council Chambers.
Speakers will include Matt Nixon of the Maine Coastal Program, who will discuss tools for preserving the working waterfront.
Peter Slovinsky, a coastal geologist with the Maine Department of Conservation, will discuss planning for sea level rise and storm surges. Municipal officials will discuss their experiences in developing public access sites.
