Walmart Lays Off Temp Workers

ELLSWORTH — The Walmart Supercenter in Ellsworth laid off 38 temporary employees in December.

“We’d hired temporary associates to get us through,” said Steve Grass, general manager. “They were temporary, so we went ahead and let them go.”

The temporary employees were hired to help when the chain opened the supercenter on Myrick Street in September.
