ELLSWORTH — Faith in Action is sponsoring a training on Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to noon for volunteers who would like to visit people in their homes.
The training will be held at St. Dunstan’s Church, 134 State St., Ellsworth.
Faith in Action is in critical need of volunteers who are willing to commit to visiting a lonely person on a regular basis. The program is designed to give volunteers increased knowledge and resources for visiting shut-ins, particularly people who have dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Presenting the training will be Janet Lewis, caregiver specialist with Eastern Agency on Aging, Gerry Gregerson, program director of Hospice of Hancock County, and Sally Smith, a nurse practitioner who specializes in care for people with memory loss and dementia.
Call 664-6016 or e-mail [email protected] to register for the training.
